This notice is issued under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 ("PDPA"). It explains how your personal data is processed when you deal with us, and your rights under the PDPA.
01Personal data we process
Personal data you provide to us or that is obtained with your consent, including your name, NRIC or passport number, date of birth, contact details, marital status, details of family members and beneficiaries, details of assets and liabilities, and religion where relevant to Shariah-compliant planning (Wasiat and Hibah).
02Purposes
Your personal data is processed to: respond to your enquiries; provide estate planning advice; prepare, store and administer wills, trusts, hibah and related documents; carry out executorship and estate administration; communicate with you, including reminders and updates you have agreed to; and comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
03Sources
We obtain personal data directly from you, and from people you authorise to act for you, such as family members or your appointed representatives.
04Disclosure
Your personal data may be disclosed to Rockwills Corporation Sdn Bhd, Rockwills Trustee Berhad, as-Salihin Trustee Berhad and their related companies; to service providers, auditors and professional advisers; to beneficiaries and executors where relevant; and to government or regulatory authorities where required by law.
05Is providing your data mandatory?
Some information is necessary for us to provide our services. If you do not provide it, we may not be able to prepare your documents or act on your instructions.
06Your right to access and correct
You may request access to, or correction of, your personal data, and you may limit its processing or withdraw your consent by contacting us in writing. We may charge a fee permitted under the PDPA for access requests, and will respond within the time the law allows.
07Security and retention
We take practical steps to protect your personal data, and keep it only as long as necessary for the purposes above or as required by law. Original wills placed in custody are kept securely by Rockwills.
